Did You Receive an Outreach Message from Me?

TL;DR

I am personally inviting you to join a private community of emerging creators and for your publication to be added to my hand-curated directory of writers, publishers, researchers, artists, podcasters, and other independent creators who care deeply about what they make, study, explore, and share with the world.

At the time of this writing, founding members such as yourself will have forever-free access to these resources. (This does not include premium content that may be added as the project grows.)

The Signal Between Stories

If you're here, it's likely because I reached out to you. I'm Liana Meyer, and I've been following the threads you've been spinning in your work as part of my own research and community-building project. Whether it was a Substack, personal blog, LinkedIn newsletter, podcast episode, YouTube channel, organization-own publication, literary journal, or something else your voice resonated with a world I'm building. You can read more about the project here and about me here

What the Opaline Outpost is

Several months ago, I began developing a Sci-Fi young-adult novel called Unsung Odes. Its research led me into questions about artificial intelligence, memory, aging, identity, technology, creativity, ethics, culture, and the stories people use to make sense of change. Eventually, the research outgrew the book. I became just as interested in the people, publications, projects, organizations, and conversations connected to those ideas—and in creating better ways for them to find one another. That became The Opaline Outpost.

Why I’m building the Community

For more than 20 years, I’ve helped organizations communicate complicated, high-stakes issues clearly and credibly—often in environments where trust, accuracy, reputation, and the way a story is framed really matter. I’ve worked closely with researchers, technical experts, senior leaders, nonprofits, and public institutions to turn complex ideas into communication people can understand, trust, and act on. (Find me on LinkedIn here.)

I’m applying that experience here in a different way: helping independent creators build trust around their work, communicate what they stand for, and form meaningful relationships that help good work travel farther. In an age of automated extraction and algorithmic silos, we are losing the 'people' element of discovery. I’m building the Outpost because finding meaningful work shouldn’t feel like an impossible climb up a fragmented media landscape. It’s time for a relationship-led way to grow.

Resources

While I'm developing and posting a 15-part module 'Pathways to Success' curriculum (Based on my 20+ years of high-stakes communications and branding strategy), the real strength in the Community is its members: people who care about their craft, engage seriously with interesting ideas, and are willing to help one another grow through actual relationships.

That includes people willing to recommend one another; exchange ideas and expertise; contribute guest posts; appear on each other’s podcasts; collaborate on projects; share calls for pitches and other opportunities; make introductions; give useful feedback; and ultimately help good work find the right audience -- hopefully you'll make a friend out of the process, as well!

Beta Status

The Opaline Outpost is in beta. That means the Hub is growing, new resources and opportunities are being added, and parts of the community will continue to evolve based on how people actually use them. (So yes, your comments and feedback are welcome -- especially since this will help shape the culture of this space, which I'm aiming to be something thoughtful, generous, curious, useful, active.)  Additionally, we are opening in small cohorts. This ensures a high-trust environment where every introduction is meaningful.
